Mobile Acute Crisis (MAC) Services

SAMHC's MAC Teams rapidly respond to a behavioral health crisis in the community. The goals of SAMHC MAC Teams are to stabilize/resolve a mental health crisis situation and to prevent imminent harm. MAC Teams are available 24/7 and travel to where the person in crisis is located. Call 622-6000 to request a MAC Team. MAC Teams are comprised of qualified clinical staff who are trained in First Aid, CPR, and non-violent crisis intervention. Mobile crisis services may include:

• Mental health assessment (including risk assessment);

• Crisis counseling services;

• Crisis de-escalation;

• Consultation with a higher-level behavioral health professional when appropriate; and

• Arranging for transportation to an appropriate facility for further assessment and care.
