Mobile Acute Crisis (MAC) Services
SAMHC responds with rapid mobile behavioral health crisis services to prevent imminent harm; stabilize a crisis situation; or resolve an acute behavioral health issue. This care is provided by qualified mobile teams comprised of qualified clinical staff trained in First Aid, CPR, and nonviolent crisis intervention, and who travel to the location of the person in crisis. These crisis services include:
• Risk assessment;
• Assessment, diagnosis, and crisis counseling services;
• Crisis de-escalation;
• Consultation, when appropriate, with a higher-level behavioral health professional; and
• Transport, as appropriate, to an appropriate facility for further assessment or care.
