Crisis Beds up to 72 Hours

SAMHC clinicians help the individual to resolve crises and return safely to the pre-crisis environment. In cases requiring care in a structured environment with no need for a locked setting, the person may be referred to a SAMHC sub-acute bed. Here, persons age 18 or older who require a brief intervention to optimize treatment benefits or prevent relapse are provided treatment and support for up to 72 hours. Sub-acute bed treatment and discharge plans are determined in consultation with the person, his or her family and/or other support network, clinical and nursing staff, and the Behavioral Health Medical Provider. When appropriate transition and referral to outpatient services are facilitated.
