23 Hour Observation Unit

SAMHC has recently expanded its subacute unit to provide up to 24 hours of observation and treatment for an additional 6 clients who utilize reclining chairs. Eligibility for this service is for those clients who don't require inpatient treatment but whose clinical crisis needs go beyond an initial assessment.
Walk-in clients or referrals from community providers will be evaluated by a psychiatric medical provider and a clinician, and receive round-the clock nursing care and supervision.
Those clients who need a safe place and medically-supervised care can be started on medications and receive case-management services.
